Palletizing, Bagging and Material Handling

PulseBoard for Palletizing, Bagging and Material Handling

Connect production throughput with product quality and machine condition. PulseBoard brings signals from palletizers with automatic strapping, bagging machines and load clamps into shared views that help operations and maintenance teams investigate downtime, recipe deviations and component wear.

From machine cycles to production and maintenance decisions

A drop in output becomes easier to investigate alongside downtime causes, pressure, vibration, weight deviations and strap tension. These views connect throughput, quality, machine condition and consumption to help prioritize inspections and identify improvements by machine and shift.

Three machines, three views of the process

Dashboards built from a proposed measurement set for palletizing and strapping, bagging and material handling.

Measurements that answer operational questions

Availability and throughput

Idle, running, fault and setup states, cycles per hour, cycle times, shift counters and downtime causes. For palletizing, the OEE-like indicator combines availability, performance and first-pass quality.

Quality and recipes

Layers and blocks per pallet, strap count and position, tension against setpoint, bag weight and rejects by cause. These signals help teams review settings, rework and material loss by product.

Condition and maintenance

Vibration, temperature, current, power, pressure and actuator response provide context for investigating wear or blockages. Accumulated hours and cycles help plan maintenance around actual usage.

Consumption and environment

Energy per pallet or tonne, strap, bag and thread consumption, air pressure, temperature and humidity. Door, guard and emergency-stop states add machine context.

Matched to each machine’s sensors and configuration

Bag weight requires an integrated scale. Handled load depends on the available instrumentation; the demonstration clamp includes a load cell. Oil temperature and contamination apply to the hydraulic variant and do not apply to a pneumatic clamp. Recipes, units, periods and counters need to be defined for each installation.

Example: investigating a drop in bagging throughput

In the demonstration, bagging throughput falls while feeder vibration and motor current rise; weight deviations and a pneumatic pressure drop also appear. The view lets the team review the sequence alongside rejects and actuator response to guide an inspection. Signals occurring together provide investigation context without proving a cause on their own.

Start with one machine and one operational decision

Cogniaxiom can help identify available signals and prepare views for downtime, quality, wear and consumption reviews. Start by defining what the plant team needs to observe and which measurements are available to support it.
